This post is all about running, seriously.
With 2.5 months to SCM, I am beginning to doubt whether I can finish doing the mother-of-all-runs. I’m not like Mark, who can fly through without having trained at more than an hour each time, nor am I Angie, who would be running her fifth marathon this year. I’m lazy arse like that.
But I did tell myself things will get ugly should I not get to the tracks, and on Sunday morning, still dark at 5.30am, I got off for a slow run.
The whole objective of Sunday’s run was to see how far I could go before I started to heave. And it only took me up till Plaza Singapura, which was a paltry 5.5 km, to get me seeing stars. So much for training.
That means I have to step on it, and hopefully I don’t make evening tabloid news for the wrong reasons on the day itself. And the only one person whom I think has the potential to be a running buddy turns out to be a pro! I have doubts of not humiliating myself in front of him, but I guess I shall have to suffer a bruised ego and be laughed by him when we actually run together.
Well, Boon and mine’s first trip together, after knowing for 22 years! (Hmm, Shanghai doesn’t count, cos she went with her mum and bunked at my dad’s). But it was good break that we both needed, although the killer heat was really something. Shall upload the pics later and explain in detail, but for now, ENJOY!

Have decided that since I’ve got a back log of pics to upload, I should probably set up an album just on food alone. Though I suppose I will be too lazy to detail information of them, but at least it’s up there somewhere
Note to self: Do not view album when hungry
It’s time to remind myself that regardless what happens, I will also be happy. I owe it to myself only, and no one else.
I don’t often talk about my family, but this is an exception. Sometimes I think relatives take us for granted. It’s a “you’ve been doing it for so long, just continue with it” mentality. They don’t see the sacrifices we have to make, or the quarrels we have to put up with. What mum said is true, “no point having many kids if none will be good to you. You can spare the pain by just having one.” I’ll better her statement.
I made a trip back to Melbourne (yes, again!). It’s funny what a place can do to you after you’ve left it for a while. This was a Jen-shall-do-nothing-and-chill trip, and I literally did that! Well, I did have to run some shopping errands for dad, but that’s another entry altogether.
It was pretty much a
1) Wake up at 9 am and breakfast
2) Left for city at 10 am
3) Shopped around at Smith St, Chapel St, DFOs, Bridge Road
4) Ate my favourite food, and drinking the skinny caps
5) Shopping in the city at Myers, David Jones, MC, Priceline
6) Do a gym session (or 2, or 4, depending on my mood)
7) Warm cozy fat-fuelled dinner (Thank you Karen for the risottos, fish & chips and the chocolate fondants!)

Shall update more when I get to upload the pics. The new Canon G10 was so much fun. Was literally using it on manual mode for the entire time, which meant lotsa horrible outcome, but so insightful (pun intended).
Dad always wanted a mini-tablet, and thought Fujitsu’s U2010 served his mobile purposes. Got the Tokidoki version, since it’s limited edition and is now the same price as the plain ones! Dad just has to get used to the cute ‘toons…
